"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi asi,

Your app can expect already created by the client empty database. During installation (or menu, or where you want) your app can create all tables needed using SQL 'CREATE TABLE' statements. This moves the point of having MS Office legally to the client.

It means that you disribute your app only (without DB). You have to write something about this in your 'readme' file.

I think that it's legal.

Hi Asi,

Go to the following site :

http://www.cybermagic.co.nz/winsoft

Here you can find an awesome, DAO component lib. For use of jet database.
It has native access through ms dao.

Ronald
