Question for Mark25150 only

I am creating a real time application , with VB5, which requires precise time stamp for serial data exchange.

I use the MSCOMM to exchange data via the serial port and do not like to treat data in the ONCOM event.

I would like to find a way to run a function continously (to manipulate data) without using any object event or VB TIMER.

Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

As I said to the original of this Q, ship the time from each system as part of the data stream.
