I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Suppose, IDC_STP_PROGRESS is the id of the progress bar control.

..rc file:

CONTROL "", IDC_STP_PROGRESS, "msctls_progress32", WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE | WS_BORDER,
      96, 76, 185, 14

..c file:

// Init
nSteps=10;
SendDlgItemMessage(hDlg,IDC_STP_PROGRESS,PBM_SETSTEP,100/nSteps,0);

// Doing...
SendDlgItemMessage(hDlg,IDC_STP_PROGRESS,PBM_STEPIT,0,0);

// Doing...
SendDlgItemMessage(hDlg,IDC_STP_PROGRESS,PBM_STEPIT,0,0);

For all Common Controls, the best source of information are :

* ShellCC.Chm
* Control Spy : http://www.microsoft.com/msj/defaulttop.asp?page=/msj/1298/controlspy3/controlspy3top.htm
(source code and exe are very useful)
