Do VCD's and Ordinary CD's differ in capacity

Are the VCD r of diff type than ordinary CD I
am asking because here we have a VCD and the AVSEQ01.DAT file is of
720Mb now our CD recording software is not recording that CD on a ordinary CD because the capacity is only 650Mb. Our CD writer is HP 8100 series and R/W speed of 24/4 x respectively. We r using EasyCD Creator  Software to record the CD. The software is rejecting the target dics because of insufficient diskspace. Thanx in advance

No, it is the same CD, there are however 700Mbyte CD's. CD's can also be "overburnt" slightly if the burner supports it.

But to answer your question "No, it is the same kind of CD as an audio cd"

Do U mean to say that there r two types of CD-R avaialble one of 650Mb and one of 700Mb. and if I have to record this VCD I will have to do it on the Higher Capacity Disc (on 700Mb bisc) rather than on a 650 Cd-R.
My doubt is still not clear and can anyone help me with the complete solution How can I mak a copy of this VCD

"Do U mean to say that there r two types of CD-R avaialble one of 650Mb and one of 700Mb"  Yes, 650 = 74minutes, 700 = 80mins.

a 700Mbyte disc can take 720 - 740Mbytes using "overburning" but only a few CD-R units support this.

Thanx J2 can U also tell me how can we do this "over Burning" and U have written only few CD-R Units support this. Can U give some names.

Generally we use HP-4437 CD-R or HP-4403 (but they all are 650 MB) and is over burniing also possible on these CD-R Units

See the above page, it has the details.

Personally i use Padus Discjuggler and NERO Burning ROM to perform overburning of audio CD's, we use only Plextor CD-R / CD-R/W units.
