dbdemos alias dissapeared ?

hi,
was playing around this morning and noticed i cant run any app that uses dbdemos.so i open delphi and sure enough dbdemos alias has dissapeared, checked odbc, bde settings and find no dbdemos alias anywhere,i know i havnt deleted it so where could it be?
i tried re-creating it but now when i use my new dbdemos alias it bombs and have to give delphi the 3 finger salute ;-)

so the question is can someone give exact instructions on how to make a new dbdemos alias.i dunno why my new one kept failing..it fails when i get to selecting a table.

as a side note, why when i create an alias why does it make 2 alias's ?
i mean i make an alias to a db then when opening delphi and going to select the alias there is myalias and myalias1 to choose from.
why the "myalias1" ,shouldnt it just be "myalias" .

cheers
Barry

- Open BDE Adminstrator
- Object menu > New
- Select STANDARD
- Rename alias to DBDEMOS
- The path is the definition must be: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\Data
