I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Well you can't really learn a language straight into games.
You need to learn the basics first, animation, sound, images and even applets/applications.
You wanted to know a good tutorial online? Well i'm only going to give you one because in my books it's the best!!

go there.
Once you think you are good enough at the basics get a real book like

http://www.itknowledge.com/reference/standard/1883577985/about.html

This should help you but learn the basics first!
