Monitors

I have a sony trintron Monitor (New) and the monitor will shut off and on its own. Or the screen will shake on its own. I was using a Riva TNT video card. I tried a new video card now using a Voodoo 3 (Pci) card. Is there a setting in windows that can be modified so that this does not happen ?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, you are experiencing the APM (Advanced Power Management) feature controlling your monitor.  Open the Control Panel and double click on the Power Management icon.  Set it so that the monitor turn off is "NEVER".

I didn't say anything about a problem, APM just defaults to turning your monitor off after a time.

You asked how to stop it from turning off, right?
