Loading Adaptec 1540 driver

Newbie here... How do you load an Adaptec 1540 controller driver in Linux?  I'm wanting to install an Exabyte 4mm DAT tape drive for our current Linux server running Redhat 6.1.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Well as root you could try something like modprobe (eventually /sbin/modprobe) aha1542 (I assume you re using a 1542 card, if it s a 1520 then modprobe aha152x).
