Installation Problem w/ aha1520a

During the install of Linux-Mandrake 6.1 the install script will not recognize my aha1520a.  The only drives in the box are SCSI.  Immediately following the "Scanning Adaptec 152x SCSI bus..." I get a message stating that the device can't be found anywhere.  The drive do come to life during the scan, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

GO into the HW setup of your 1520, disable SCAM and PnP, and do _not_ use IRQ 9 or 2

Should fix it.
