"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Backup, backup, and then backup again, while you can.

Then, replace the hard-drive, either under warranty (if available), or buy purchasing a new hard-drive.

Caution: older motherboards may not support hard-drives larger than 2GB or 3GB or 4GB or 8GB.  Check COMPAQ's web-site *BEFORE* you buy a 20Gb hard-drive.
