Delphi, BDE and Crystal Reports 7
With Delphi I use always aliases from the BDE. By doing so it is possible to simple changes the places (ex. on a other computer) of the database files in the BDE (alias) and the Delphi application will work correct. The reports I use (written in Crystal Reports 7) are pointing directly to the database files. So when I change the location of the files in the BDE alias, Delphi will work correct, CR7 is stil using the wrong (old location) files.
How can I make CR7 using the BDE and his aliases?
Thanks,
Dirk.

I have an experience but not sure.
I opened the old CR reprot
and choose [database]-[change location]
and change the location of an table alias to a new DSN
it change all for me.
After that, I got new.
I hope it helps

oh, and one other thing, does the CRPE32.dll, ie the Delphi component for running CRW reports expose a property to allow you to update the datafile location for your reports on the fly?? The component has an extensive list of methods, i "think i remember" seeing this one..
