"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First of all disable any anti-virus that you have.  If this fixs it, goto your display option in the control panel, and disable the screen scan option.

What I do, since I don't use the floppy drive anymore, I just put a command in my autoexec.bat file, subst c:\temp
Make sure you have a C:\temp dir.

I like to back my files up on www.freedrivespace.com 300megs of free storage.
