Sunny,
PSLH is right to copy it from your startup disk to the folder C:\windows\command\ebd
It is the driver for your CD player and if you deleted it from your system you are in BIG trouble when you go to play a CD hehehe
                           Mrbreeze
Have you checked the recycle bin ?

Sunnytnt69,
Thank your feedback. Let us look further into your situation in stepwise. If you need clarifications, please feel free to ask.

First do you have the startup floppy of Win98?
Secondly, is your floppy drive working now?
Can you boot into the Win98 normal desktop?
We can extract it from your system too.

Please advise.
Pslh
HI PSHL WELL NOW I CAN PLAY A CD TOO, I WAS JUST WRONG, IT IS PLAYING ON MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX, SO MAYBE I JUST CAN'T USE THAT ATI THING TO PLAY CD'S.
AND YES I CAN BOOT INTO THE NORMAL DESKTOP FOR WIN98
THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE!!

Tricia/Sunnytnt69,
May I know is there any other problem still exist?
<<it shows up as a missing file now when i start up my computer.>> Is that message still exist?
pslh
pslh  sorry for the confusion the other night when i discovered this i couldn't get a game to work after i turned on, but i just shut down and started back up and the same message exists,
it read something like this
following files are corrupted or missing  oakcdrom.sys file
pshl it also says  something about a problem  with a config.sys file on line 6 that it is missing or corrupted also,
sunnytnt69,
Go to the normal desktop,Start-run, type "sysedit" without the quotation in the open box. Click OK to open the system configuration Editor.
There are several windows-config.sys, autoexec.bat....
Select the config.sys file. Use cursor to select all the text within and right click to pop up the context menu. Select the "copy" command and copy. Then paste it here.

Select the autoexec.bat file. Use cursor to select all the text within and right click to pop up the context menu. Select the "copy" command and copy. Then paste it here.

Let's try to look at the line 6 what it states there in both files?
pslh
dear PSLH, you are so smart i found what you were descibing, the config.sys file i right clicked copied and then just pasted every thing back to the same place?? was that the correct place to paste it to?  the config.sys file contains oakcdrom.sys on line 3 i think, and line 6 says: REM [Display] in each window, config and autoexec.bat.
then i shut down waited a minute and started up again, but i got the same message about the corrupted or missing files, so i am shutting down for the night and will look tomorrow, i have to tell you that you are a terrific help and if i can i will offer you more points if you show me how i can give you more!
tricia
sunnytnt69,
<<just pasted every thing back to the same place??>> Nope. Because I can't see what contents in the config.sys and autoexec.bat of your system. That's why I asked copy and paste it here in this question thread so that I can review those two files. Sorry for the confusion.   ;o)

Looking forward to your posting of the content of those two files.

One thing, can I call you "tricia"? Thanks.     pslh
hi pslh you can call me tricia
here are the 2 things you asked for can you make any thing of it?? tricia
