Hello dmbowles,

I supose you deleted the printed you installed on that port.
If you can't delete it because it's in use, try to restart your computer and then try to delete the port again.

An other way to delete ports (and which I've used several times with good results) is to execute regedit.
Then search all entries of the port and delete them. Later restart your computer, and that port won't be there.

An example: I created an LPR port in computer with this ip: 100.101.102.103
To delete it, I execute regedit, press F3 and search this: 100.101.102.103
I delete all the entries I found in this search, and finally I restart my computer.

Try the same method and tell me.

Good luck!

If you still have a printer installed, go to My Computer\Printers\ right click on the printer, and go to Properties\Details, and if that device is using the port you want to delete, then change the port used to another (change to anything is fine, because you can move it to where you want later), then you will be able to remove the port.
