a question about ie smart update?

Hello everyone,My server is an nt server
and My client is a mac os netscape 4.5.
I must download a .jar file from server
through Smart Update.But it always failed.It report "Jar archive has no installer file information",Anyone
can help me?How can I do?

The file is, more than likely, a java library. Assume the file is not damaged and drop it in the correct folder. The path to the folder is seperated by a : colon.

Netscape Folder:Essential Files:Java:Lib

The error message is probably being generated by stuffit expander because the Type and Creator of the file is ZIP, which is a common compression format. The installer file info it is looking for does not exist because it is not a .zip file.

You mean if I changed the file name, .jar file to .zip file .
It will succeed.

no. just drop the downloaded file in the Lib folder and ignore the error
