Best Java book for begineers, need suggestions...

Hi, I want to start learning Java and I have no idea of any books that could help me learn easily.  If any of you out there actually found a book worth buying could you please tell me the title and author's name.  Keep in mind that I have some basic programming skills in both Visual Basic and C++.

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

There are 2 good books you can use:

1. "thinking in java", can be found in
http://www.wisdom.weizmann.ac.il/manuals/tij/

2. There is a great site from Sun:
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/

Good luck!
