windows 98 special folders

what is the purpose of the special "FTP Folder" in windows and how  does one utilize it.When I try to open this folder Internet explorer opens with no address to find.I do know what "FTP" is but I'm stumped on this folder.

I just checked my system out and there is no "FTP Folder" that I can find.

But I do know that IE has ftp ability and it would save a address in a folder like icon with the globe in the middle of it.

Care to share where you see this "folder" ? Is it in you favorites?
