Java Servlet In IIS 4.0

How do I config my IIS 4.0 to run servlet without using any other third party stuff such as Sun's Java Web Server? I'm running NT server 4.0 with IIS 4.0, Jdk 1.2.2, and Jsdk 2.1. I could compile the servlet example but I don't know where to place the .class file in the web directory and how to access it. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Have you got jdk for IIS ??
Other wise you can't run your servlets.

I don't think that the jdk for iis has came for jsdk2.0.

Jsdk 1.0 code will execute

Hi, sorry

Have you got jdk for IIS ??

is wrong.

Have you got jsdk for IIS ??

If you have installed , that

just create a virtual directory servlet and place all your servlets in taht directory

Hi ravindra76

What did you mean by jsdk for IIS? Isn't it the jsdk for NT platform? If it is, then I installed already. And where is that virtual directory servlet located at? Inetpub/wwwroot? I have to create manually? Also, how do I access the servlet from the browser?

Ravindra76Commented:

It's not JSDK for NT.

It is JSDK for IIS.
JSDK for IIS only run servlets.
Try to download it from sun site.

Previously i downloaded jsdk101foriis on sun site

go and get it

The best bet you have is to install JRun which provides a connectivity between IIS and you webserver(Java web server).

Jrun can be found at www.allaire.com

The best part here is that JRun2.3.3 is available as a free download.

Hey rainmal, I downloaded JRun2.3 and it's working now. The User Guide isn't quite clear. I had some problems after I installed it but somehow it's working (?). I also tried IBM WebSphere, Sun Java Web Server, and ServletExec. Of those 4, I think ServletExec and JRun are better than the other two. ServletExec is only trial edition, so I got JRun for FREE. That's a good deal. Thanks Rainmal!

As ravindra76 said, I tried to find Jsdk for IIS but I couldn't. I don't know how you found it. Thanks for your comments also ravindra76!

well if you have any problems with JRun just shoot me a mail or something.I have used that stuff before, and I know why it acts up sometimes.
BTW it provides connectivity for a whole host of servers such as Apache,IIS,Java web server  and various others. So you dont have to bother about the server you use really....well not very much atleast.
