Adding information to a field

I have a field that I want to be able to add information to.
i.e. a complaint is entered with specific information on a subject, and the person realizes that they forgot an important piece of information.  I want them to be able to go back to the field and add to the end of it without overwriting the data that is in it.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

have another section.. draw the info out of the database.. and have an update button, and the just run a sql statement.. that will update the info... that is the easiest way to do it

When I tried the SQL it would take the

OldNotes (you last note)

NewNotes (your update)

and either give
the info in "OldNotes" and then NewNotes.

or Oldnotes and then the info in "NewNotes"

Not the info in "OldNotes" and the info in "NewNotes"
