Run Latex in full batch mode

Hi!
I hope you can answer a "simple" latex-question!

Can I run latex in full batch mode - without user interaction!

If you make mistakes in your tex file, or an included file isn't found, the compiler stops, to ask you for a solution!

Can I run it without stopping (with or without errors), and only write the result to the .log file?

thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
