Hiding App's form the Ativity-field..

Hi !
I need to hide my app from the activity-field at the bottom of windows. However, I want the icon for the application to be visible on the lower right of the screen next to the time, like the icon for the Interbase, or the volume-control...

Thanx !

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Use this one to hide your window from the taskbar:

SetWindowLong(Application.Handle, GWL_EXSTYLE, GetWindowLong(Application.Handle, GWL_EXSTYLE) or WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW);

To show an icon in the systray (the area next to the clock) you should use one of those freeware trayIcon components or you can also directly use the API Shell_NotifyIcon.

A good trayIcon component is e.g. included in the free RX library (comes with full sources):

Ooops. In the meanwhile the rx library has it's own COM domain:
