mallah,

Try using dd (double check "man dd").

But make sure the device is attached to the system and functioning.

   try dd if=/dev/source of=/dev/destination

Assuming that you have this setup.

Primary IDE Controller  : 1 hd

   Secondary  IDE       : source hd
                              dest HD

    then try dd if=/dev/hdb of=/dev/hdc

I hope this work (never tried though).

samri, I too feel dd should work
but sorry I no more need or have the scope to test it. I wish to award you points , but I don't know how, when I view my posted question i don't see any interface for giving you points instead
 tostos name appears.

tostos , I tried to search 'ghost' program  in freshmeat but could not get,
can you tell me where can i find it ?
if the  program is good enough i might award you points.

Thanks.
