What is the fix for the following error caused when hpipcopy.exe is run.  The error occurs when the program appears to have completed the scan and transfer back to the program. Thjis is baseed on the  the fact the error occurs when the copy progress bar reaches the left end.

I figured out the work around by using the LT scan

ISSUE: When using HP Copy Utility with a fax driver selected as a printer driver, the following error occurs: "HPIPCOPY caused an invalid page fault in module HPCPYDST.DST at 0167:017c723f"

SOLUTION 1: Save the scan to a file using HP PrecisionScan LT and attach the file in the fax software.

SOLUTION 2: In HP PrecisionScan LT, select Printer in Step 2: Where do you want the scan to go? Then in the printer dialog box, select the fax driver.

SOLUTION for WinFax Pro 9.0: Click on the link below and follow the path to the specific scanner. Click "Downloads and Drivers" or "Drivers and Software." Locate and download the "HP Patch for the HP ScanJet XXXXc (where the XXXXc is the scanner model number) Series for the WinFax Printer in HP Copy Utility." For more information about expanding and running the patch, read the section "more info" by the download.

here is ther link for the patch

As I said in the original post, I know the work around using PrecisionScan LT.  I am looking for a fix  that will alow the software to  run as  advertised.

have you installed the patch?

from the looks of it the only way is either with the patch or with the workaround it would seem to be a programming error on hp's end of things.... the only other thing I can say is mnake sure you are using the scanners twain interface and not some other Twain driver
