Star Office install

I installed the Star Office 5.1 that came with RH 6.1. Everything seemed to go fine but I have no menu items for the Star apps, how do I run them? using Gnome/Enlightenment.

You can start StarOffice by executing the command "path-Office/bin/soffice".

I suspect that that the next problem you'll encounter is that the version you loaded is likely to be the original distribution from StarDiv (not Sun's free version) and it's going to want license key to run. The best fix for this is to go to Sun's site (www.sun.com) and download the latest version. It doesn't need a key and works lots better...

Red Hat 6.1 came with the Sun version, Red Hat 6.0 came with the old version that required a license key.

Forget that, I think I got it with the SuSe 6.3 version, it's hard to keep track of all the ones I've tried.

I'm assuming you are going to get the download from Sun. There are some patches for the 5.1a distribution at ftp://ftp.stardiv.de/pub/support/so51a. You may or may not need them, but you ought to be aware that they exist.
