Custom Actions from Microsoft Outlook

I would like to be able to create a custom action which will execute a perl
script or a DOS batch program using the information contained in the
contents of the mail and in the from field in the mail. Does anybody know
how I  would do that and where I can get a clear example of something
similar.

Thanks

You might want to have a look at this MS KB article, it may help:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q173/9/15.asp

You can also get this article by sending an E-mail with a subject of "Q173915" (without the quotes) to mshelp@microsoft.com.

This link should automate that process for you:
mailto:mshelp@microsoft.com?subject=Q173915

The follow up question is how I access information about the mail from VB.
