I guess I didn't phrase my question very well.

Are you trying to set up a Unix system so that it can access data from a remote MySQL server via ODBC?

Or are you trying to set up a Unix system with MySQL so that it can supply data via ODBC?

There are two pieces that you'll need to allow ODBC clients to connect to MySQL. You'll need the MyODBC-2.50 distribution (www.mysql.org) and it will need either iODBC (www.openlinksw.com/iodbc) or unixODBC (genix.net/unixODBC).

There are pretty clear instruction in the distributions as to how to install and set everything up. Install up the ODBC manager first and then install MyODBC.
