synchronizing e-mail

If you have Outlook 2000 installed on a desktop as well as a laptop and you want to synchronize the two in order for both to be consistent, how do you do this? Is the same possible for Netscape? If so how?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It's fairly easy. Just configure Outlook for offline access under the same profile. Tools, Services, Microsoft Exchange Server Properties, Advanced.
You'll specify an offline folder (.ost) OK your way back out and restart Outlook. Right-click on the folders you want to see offline, and check to make them available. The laptop will need to be synchronized with the server to make them match, and delivery must be to the Exchange server mailbox. After synchronizing, the folders will match. Synching instead of sending and receiving is the best way to keep current while out of the office. It takes about the same amount of time, and keeps the calendar and others in line.
