API to show tooltips?

Hello experts!

Anybody knows an API to show tooltips?

I´m working with a custom control that don´t have this property.

I've used the label method but, in my project, custom controls are beside frames and, when the label is showed, it is in back of the frame. I've send label to front and frame to back, but it don't works.

Thanks in advance.

I'm right anyway. If you want to assign ToolTip at run time, just create new property of your usercontrol and

UserControl.Extender.ToolTipText = UserControl.MyNewProperty

I've answered your original question.

Hi
U have to use ToolTip Control For this I am not sure but give a try to this
You create a ToolTip control by using the CreateWindowEx function, specifying the TOOLTIPS_CLASS window class. The class is registered when the common control dynamic-link library (DLL) is loaded. To ensure that this DLL is loaded, include the InitCommonControls function in your application.

Hope this helps

Hi!
You don't need any API....
Just add to InitProperties line
UserControl.Extender.ToolTipText = "MyToolTipText"

To samopal:

You are in the right way, but...  I'm using an array of 18 controls in the form, so I need different tooltip for each one.
