Need help to convert a VB function to Java

Is there anyone who knows the Java equivalent of the mid VB function?

ex.:
myString = "Hello"
strResult = mid(myString, 2, 2)

where strResult would be:
strResult == "el"
Thanks

String myString = "Hello";
String strResult= myString.substring(1,3);
System.out.println(strResult);
//returns the string "el"
