Get rid of documents in start menu?
I'd like to get rid of the documents option from the start button menu so it doesn't show up, is this possible? Sometimes some confidential things are opened and I need to leave the computer but don't want people to see. Can I get rid of it? I don''t mean clear it I mean get rid of it :)
Do you have TweakUI installed? If so there is an option there to remove it from the start menu. If not then it is on your Win98 disk just install it.
ahhh, Ray beat me to it!
to install it, do a find diles for tweakui on you cd-rom, when it's found, right click and select install. Then, go to your control panel and double click the TweakUI icon to use it.

Wrong button sorry
The setting you need to change with TweakUI is located on the IE4 tab, just uncheck where it says "show document on start menu"
WOW Did we all show up at about the same time or what???

The registry looks like what I want where it's just never there. I'll try it in the morning :)
Trey,
The registry hack will get rid of it but TweakUi will also remove it from the Start Menu. Haven't traced the change made by TweakUi but it probably does a similar move cause thats how you get rid of it. Let us know how it goes

Well I was sure TweakUI only gets rid of it at start up but during a session it will hold docs? With all this registry I should post my question about the MS Publisher clipart pointing to the network CD rom drive :)

Thanks so much, the registry hack was what I was looking for.
With reference to your Clipartlooking at the CD ROm in MS Publisher - tools/option... you can change its default location there.
