Get rid of documents in start menu?

I'd like to get rid of the documents option from the start button menu so it doesn't show up, is this possible?  Sometimes some confidential things are opened and I need to leave the computer but don't want people to see.  Can I get rid of it?  I don''t mean clear it I mean get rid of it :)

Do you have TweakUI installed? If so there is an option there to remove it from the start menu. If not then it is on your Win98 disk just install it.

ahhh, Ray beat me to it!

to install it, do a find diles for tweakui on you cd-rom, when it's found, right click and select install.  Then, go to your control panel and double click the TweakUI icon to use it.

There is two ways, one is a registry hack and the other is by installing TweakUi and letting it do it,
You can disable the Documents submenu on Win98's Start menu. Tweak UI's Paranoia tab can automatically clear the Documents menu each time you boot, but a quick Registry edit removes the Documents menu and the C:\WINDOWS\RECENT folder altogether.

First, back up your Registry files - C:\WINDOWS\USER.DAT and SYSTEM.DAT - before making any changes.
Next, launch RegEdit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.

In the right pane, right-click on the background and select New/Binary Value. Type NoRecentDocsHistory and press Enter. Double-click on the new icon and enter 01000000 in the Edit Binary Value dialog box. (Note: RegEdit automatically inserts three spaces into the value).
Click on OK.
Add a new NoRecentDocsMenu binary value entry and follow the same steps. Close RegEdit and restart Windows.
To reverse the tip, delete the two new binary values you added, or change both values to 00000000.
To install TweakUI
Put in you rWin98 CD and browse to Tools\Reskit\Powertoy folder. To install it, right-click Tweakui.inf and select Install

The setting you need to change with TweakUI is located on the IE4 tab, just uncheck where it says "show document on start menu"

The registry looks like what I want where it's just never there.  I'll try it in the morning :)

Trey,
The registry hack will get rid of it but TweakUi will also remove it from the Start Menu. Haven't traced the change made by TweakUi but it probably does a similar move cause thats how you get rid of it. Let us know how it goes

Well I was sure TweakUI only gets rid of it at start up but during a session it will hold docs?  With all this registry I should post my question about the MS Publisher clipart pointing to the network CD rom drive :)

With reference to your Clipartlooking at the CD ROm in MS Publisher - tools/option... you can change its default location there.
