"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It's a server running Citrix software.  It can be any of a number of operating systems.  No special hardware required.

If I'm not mistaken, Citrix runs on NT Terminal Server 4.0. They also have a version that runs on MACOS, but the UNIX version is still fairly new...beta I think. It is used for thin client networking where all the programs are run on the server, and the clients are basically dummy terminals.

It also runs on many other OS's.  I am running it on WIN2K and it is fantastic.  I love it...
