2D Format Specs

Where is the best place to get formal 2D graphic format specifications on-line? I mean for BMP, GIF, JPEG, TGA, PCX. I need to read and write these in the software I'm writing. I've looked at C and C++ libraries but none have been very good thus far. I want to write my own C++ classes for them. If anybody knows any *good* C++ classes then I'd be well pleased.

Cheers

I would appreciate if you increase the points to (at least)10 because I am just giving you name of site and libraries.

Graphics site : http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/~mxr/gfx/

Library : www.delorie.com

I suggest you to download DJGPP compiler with ALLEGRO which free at given site. ALLEGRO is a very good collection of graphics and sound libraries.

Sorry,
What happened is, I came to this question from the link given in C++ programming area. There the points are 0 hence I suggested to increase the
points.

Hope you will understand.
