I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Write a function that returns, as a string, the name of a form in the database you want to be used.  For example:

@IsMember("[Admin]";@Userroles); "AdminForm";
The command you mention, DesignViewFormFormula, is not the one you're looking for here. It is only for displaying the Form Formula of a view that is in Design Mode. You will want to use the Form Formula itself.

What you should do is the following:
Go to the view properties, select the 'beanie' tab (the one with the propellorhead). You'll find the "Form formula" there, which can be used to use a different form for displaying data, depending on the formula you would enter there.

Put a formula in here that makes a selection based on a criterium which makes a difference between your readers and your 'other' users.

@IsMember("[ReadersRole]";@Userroles); "ReadersForm";

You would give your readers the userrole [ReadersRole] in this example, and, because they have this role, the "ReadersForm" would be used. Everyone else would see the data through the "OtherForm".

Good luck!
