Connect to Sqlserver thru Delphi5 across the internet

I have an delphi5 app using ADO that connects to a sqlserver 7 app across the internet using TCP/IP. I have user/password settings on the database but what security concerns do I have in passing the data across the internet. Is there encryption programs I need to run?
Thanks

Mssql 7 has it's own crypting possibility that allows protection of
the database itsself, and the data that are transmitted on the network

the client must activate the multiprotocol network library.

You can find all explanation in mssqlserver 7 help docs
(havin the french version I can't tell you under each keyword but you can try *crypting* I tryed *cryptage* and it went nicely

regards, Marc
