How do I save a picture box's picture into a file?  I don't care what it is, bmp, jpg, or gif.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try something like this..

Place a command button on the form.

Private Sub Command1_Click()
    SavePicture Picture1.Picture, "C:\YourPicture.bmp"
End Sub

Yeah, it's very simple, but it can only be BMP files..:(  If you have used picture1.pset(..) or Picture1.Line or similar functions, you must use:

SavePicture Picture1.Image, "C:\mypic.bmp"

Another possible solution...
Instead picture box you can use ImgEdit
OCX control (I hope Wang Imaging SW already installed on your PC).
And you can save your picture very easy
not only as BMP file, but TIFF, JPEG, PCX etc. in one line only.
For more info please read ImgEdit OCX control Help File.
Good luck
