Autorun not working

I got a Dell XPS T600 - 600mhz pIII, 40X CD-ROM, 256MB SDRAM, SONY CD-RW.  I haven't made any changes to my system.  When loading a CD in the tray, it used to autorun programs - they'd start right up.  All of a sudden, nothing autoruns anymore.  What do I need to do?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

that fixes the problem, but WHY would this check box all of a sudden become "unchecked" on it's own?  Is there a setting somewhere else I should be aware of?
I doubt it, but something you installed may have modified this setting on its own I guess.
