cron output to a log file...how?

How can I output any error or return messages to a log file. I am running several jobs throughout the day and would like to see if any error are returned. What is the best way of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Redirect the output to the log file.  E.g.

* * * * * /usr/local/bin/important_job 2> /var/log/important.log

Hope this helps!
