I would like to change a data from a field...

I work with Lotus Notes 4.5.5
In a form, I have 2 sections.
In each section, I have a layout region.
In each layout region, I have many field but one or more field of date format.
When I set manually the NULL value to the field with the date format in the first section, I have no problem.
In the second section, the computer has generated a value (31/01/2000) and I can't delete it or replace it ! Why ?
I have created the form and I will not that ! (no inherit clause)
Is that a Lotus Notes Bug ?

Try putting the initial value as

DEFAULT FieldName := ""

instead of putting it as "" in the default event.

Good Luck !

First of all, if you can't change and replace the value, chances are the field is not set editable but computed. You can change this under the field properties in the form.
Second as the other comments say check the Default Value property of the field.
If those ideas don't apply, please tell us more about the section.

Hi CDE,

If you are so desperate in setting the values to NULL then,

Try a simple script that would run during the postopen event that would set all the specified date Fields to Null Value.

Please not that you should check for the isnewdocument condition for doing this.  Otherwise each time you open an old document you find the values being reset.

Good Luck !!!

PS:  You can also use the @Function formula to acheive this.
