Visual Basic And Speach/Voice Recognition

I am trying to making a voice operated application using Visual Basic 6.0. I downloaded SAPI, Speach Recognition engine and Text To Speach Engine. Before start puting any voice command the application used to load a grammer text file which contains all the phrases(All possible commands which can be understand by the computer). But i want to eliminate this limitation(Loading a grammer text file). and want interaction with the database (contains all the records/informations for the user purpose). nd i want that computer understand the phrases with the maximum intellegency, bcoz if i say "5" (five) then computer understand it some time "9" (Nine), and same if i say "Hi" then computer understand it some time "5" (Five). I want to make a totally voice operated system in which i can extract the information from SQL-Server, I can Fax the messages and I can Email the messages(I know the MAPI programming).
So how can i do that?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you might want to try IBM ViaVoice or Dragon Naturally Speaking..I tried ViaVoice....it worked really well but VB....of course you need a lot of HDD space...

hi rohit
for speech recognisation the easiest way to go is for using
microsoft agent control. this activeX control called agent provides the programming as per our needs. i have used it and has made applications in which if i speak open new windows then a new window opens  and various commands can be added. u can have further informations and download it from http://www.msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/imedia/agent/default.asp

hope this helps u ..
i am also working on such .
u can mail me at modijs@yahoo.com

Bcoz i want to store all my posible commands and responses in the database. so if i got anything input as a voice then it should search that phrase from the DB, but i think this is not possible with MS-Agent.And in this answer other things are also missing like : FAX.

programming microsoft agent control is such that u can specify any commands u like and depending on that commands u can have events. u need not have database for this u have to specify all command in the programm itself ,u visit the link i gave u and u will know more about it.
u can add command like
....check email....
here ".." specifies any no of words like
for eg :computer u check email for me.
so as soon as the word check email is spoken it is recognised and the action is done. same can be done for fax etc.
sytaxs are like
agent.addcommand "check email"
agent.listen
etc.
u try and out and then u will fly..
ur project will be with the intelligence and does the work only by speaking in the microphone.
