FP2000 does not check external links?

In FP98 I was able to do a routine check of all hyperlinks, including external ones.  This is useful as other sites change names or page locations, or sometimes just disappear.
In FP 2K the help text says: "To verify hyperlinks, click Recalculate Hyperlinks on the Tools menu.
Note   If there are many external hyperlinks in your web, it may take several minutes for FrontPage to carry out this command, because it must connect to each external Web site to verify the hyperlink."
When I run this command it lists all my external links as "? Unknown", and does not seem to ever do the detailed link check.
Is there some magic word I need to know to force it to perform?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Whilst connected to the web
in FP2k
click view
Click Reports
Click site summary
click unverified hyperlinks or broken hyperlinks (it takes you to the same place)
You can right click on a hyperclick and verify the link, or click on the verify icon (this looks like a link with a tick) and can be put on the toolbar by going to Tools, Customise. click on view in the dialog box that pops up, scroll down on the right hand side of the box and click on verify hyperlinks and drag it to your toolbar. You can also select hyperlinks by pressing and holding down shift at the first link you want then going to the last link you want (still holding shift) this selects all the links inbetween. You can select individual links by pressing & holding down Ctrl and selecting one by one.

Fabulous answer Tina.
Thanks very much - It works perfectly.
But why MS hides these things so well is beyond me!
