Most likely there is some disagreement between the program and the OS (or more particularly, some part, or updated part, of the OS).

What is the program?

Cheers,

Raymond.

What kinds of programs that you've
downloaded cause these error messages ?

Are you sure they're 32-bit programs ?
Win98 doesn't tolerate 16-bit programs
too well. Another place to look is at
the video settings. Some programs
require certain color depth to run
properly.

One of the programs is Flash 4. I just downloaded it but can 't run it.

You may need to know this:
My partition is FAT32
Video sitting True color ( 32 bit).

Thanks

Are you running 98 or 98SE?

I think I am running Windows 98
but  98SE I have never heard of !

How do I know if I am runiing 98SE ?

rwilson032697Commented:
98SE = Windows 98 Second Edition.

It should say so in the system control panel...

Basically, Win98 was a buggy piece of crap, Win98 SE was a big patch for it :-)

Raymond.

Try going to Start|Settings --> Control Panel and double click on the "System" item. What does that say?

Raymond.

I updated my Windows to Windows 98 SE.
The program still does not work and it gives the same error. I also got the same program in a CD
and installed it but the same thing happen when I run it. I think a 3rd party software is making the conflict. I contacted Macromedia. They replied :
One of the following is causing the error:

-No enogh space or
-downloading problem -corrupted files during  downloading
-setup program is corrupted

I have
- 1 GB free space
-64 MB memory
-I have the program in a CD and 3 times downloaded.

So all these are not the cause of my problem. DO you have any idea ?

Thanks

The flash installer might be corrupted by the w95.CIH virus. It happend to me once. Scan your computer and see if there's a virus then kill it and try again. It looks like it is caused by the CHI virus.
