file apps

When you get a new new file, and windows doesn't recognize it, you get a little window that lists all of your available apps so you can choose which one opens the file. If you're not careful, you won't uncheck the box that tells the computer to use that app ALL THE TIME. My question is, how do you correct this, or rather, how do you "uncheck" the app at a later date once you realize you need another app to do the job?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
