saving .jpg file as wallpaper

If I download a picture as a .jpg file, how can use that image as my wallpaper?  Doesn't the image have to be a .bmp file to use as wallpaper?  How can I convert the .jpg file to a .bmp file?  thanks for your help.

Open the picture up in your internet browser and right click on the picture.
Select, set as wallpaper and it will take the name of "Internet Explorer Wallpaper". You can then open up paint and open the picture.
The file will be located in the windows directory on your computer.

Do you have IE4.0+ or Plus! installed?
If ether is it will work if you go to desktop settings, browse, find the *.jpg.
A good util to convert the graphic is this one:

Right-Click your mouse on an unused part of the Desktop. Windows 98 in turn will dislplay a small pop-up menu.

Within the pop-up menu, select the Properties option. Windows 98, in turn, will open the Display Properties dialog box.

Withint the Background sheet, click your mouse on the Brower Button. Windows 98 in turn, will display the Browse dialog box, within which you can locate the graphics image file (.jpg, .bmp) you want to assign to the Desktop.

If the image you select does not fill the dialog box's preview monitor, click your mouse on the Display pull-down list (which appears on the Background sheet) and click your mouse on the Title option. Windows 98 will tile the number of images copies it requires to fill the screenm.

After you select the wallpaper image you desire, click your mouse on the OK button.

ghostrider 2000: if marckus does not have plus! or IE4+ he will not be able to do that.
