3D engines in VB?

Is there a way to build a simple 3d engine in VB (A wolfenstein3d/ doom style) i.e. very simple. Are there any tutorials available as to how to build a simple 3d engine or perhaps some 3d engines already built that can be adapted. I am looking for the simplest one possible.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Im looking for an engine even simpler than this. I had already found this myself, but it was not really what i was looking for. The kind of engine that I am looking for is something very very basic - again similiar to something like the wolfenstein/doom engine
