after format and reinstall 98, can't restore emails
before formatting the hard drive, and reinstalling win 98, i backed up all my emails and outlook folders and have them in .dbx format on a cd.
now i cannot get outlook to recognise them. how do i restore these files over the current ones, or add them to outlook?

If have installed OE5 before, you should reinstall, and then you can import your old messages from the file - import menu I think.
Hope this helps

Copy the files to a folder on your hard drive and then use the Outlook import feature to bring them in.

yes, when i burnt the folders onto the cd they were marked read-only.
I coppied them directly into the correct folder, un-marked them, then opened up outlook and hey presto, there they were :)))
