How do I change default resolution settings in a HP Scanjet 3300c ?

How do you change default resolution settings for the HP Scanjet 3300c. I need to simplify the process of scanning a document to e-mail to a client. Presently I scan a document then change the resolution and size of the document then insert it into an email and send. Does anyone know of any way to simplify this and make it easier to accomplish all these tasks with as little wasted time a necessary. Thanks.

HP PrecisionScan LT - Changing a Scan's Output Size in the PrecisionScan LT Software

Introduction

This document offers information on changing a scan's Output Size in the HP PrecisionScan LT software.

Changing a scan's output size

1. With a scanned original displayed in the Image Window, click Output Size under the Make optional adjustments section.

OR

Select Output Size from the Settings menu in the HP scanning software.

2. You can do one of the following:

· To scan at the same size as the original, click Use original size.

· To scale the scan to a certain percentage, click Scale size by a percentage and type a number in the box.

· To scale the scan to fit a specific size, click Specify custom size (proportional only) and enter either a width or a height. The scanned image is then scaled proportionately. When a custom size is entered, the proportions of the Selection Border in the Image Window become locked. A lock symbol is shown beside the Output Size button in the HP scanning software. The lock symbol also appears next to the mouse cursor when the Selection Border tool is enabled.

3. In the Units drop-down list, you can specify whether to display the dimensions in Inches, Centimeters, or Pixels.

4. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Tips for changing a scan's output size

Scaling percentage

· You cannot "stretch" or "flatten" a scan in the HP scanning software by changing one dimension (height or width) more or less than the other dimension. You can change only one dimension at a time. The HP scanning software automatically changes the other dimension to keep it in proportion to the dimension you changed.

· When you change a scan's Output Size, the scaling percentage (the difference between the original size of the scan and the size you want it to be in the destination) is displayed in the Change Output Size dialog box. In addition, the scan information area in the HP scanning software is updated to reflect the change.

· If you change the width or height of the scan's Selection Border in the Image Window after setting a custom Output Size, the scaling percentage is changed. The proportions of the Selection Border in the Image Window become locked. A lock symbol is shown beside the Output Size button in the HP scanning software. The lock symbol also appears next to the mouse cursor when the Selection Border tool is enabled. However, the size in the Change Output Size dialog box remains the same when you transfer the scan to the destination. More or less of the original is included; the scaling percentage is higher or lower to match the dimensions that you specified in the Change Output Size dialog box.

· To change the Output Size, open the Change Output Size dialog box again.

· If you greatly enlarge a scan's size, the HP scanning software may automatically rescan to capture more data for better image quality.

Resizing photos or drawings

When scanning a photo or a drawing, it is better to resize the scan in the HP scanning software than in the destination. You do not have to resize a text scan if your destination accepts editable text.

What I need is to change the default from 150dpi to 75dpi....So every time I open the program it will open with 75 dpi as the default setting.I know I can change the settings in the scanned image window, what I am hoping to do is cut a few steps out to simplify this process. Does HP have a 800 number?
