Netscape vs. IE - weird and inconsistent results

Please review these two WIP sites in Netscape and IE.  I know that the two browsers are different in the way they render tables and such, but Netscape isn't even consistent from one page to the next.  Both sites were designed in FP2000 and use the same shared borders and the same footer include.  For some odd reason Netscape seems to like the site at a little better then the one at but they both still look awful.  What the heck can I do?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The best solution is do not use FP :)))
Troubles occurs when you use a blank column:
<td valign="top" width="24"></td>
Netscape usually ignores "width" in <td> tag. You can use a transparent gif image 1x1 for formatting:
<td valign="top" width="24"><img src=blank.gif width=24 height=1></td>

I'm in the process of moving to Dreamweaver for everything i do (the more i learn, the more i hate FP) Do you think this will help eliminate the problem in the future.

I personally would have liked to redo the site in Dreamweaver, but the site was orginally designed in FP, so I had to stick with that.

I'll try and do what you suggest.
