Is there a way that you can custom paint a component, such as a JPanel, without having to create a class for it?  In other words...can I create an instance of a JPanel inside an applet class and somehow custom paint the JPanel?

Custom painting

Java is a platform-independent, object-oriented programming language and run-time environment, designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible such that developers can write one set of code across all platforms using libraries.
