There are too many out there..

One of the most popular and easy to use is Miva Merchant. But is has to be installed on the server. alot of ISPs have it though.

Other good and popluar ones are iCAT and Mercantec.

Check out the following review websites:

I had the option of using Miva Merchant but preferred creating my own.

Let me know if you have any questions.

The difference with what I'm looking for is that ny company doesn't sell physical products that are stocked, but instead provide a booking facility.

Anything you know of that could do or be manipulated to do this?

In the meantime i will scan through the sites cheekycj suggested

I think some of those will still work because you are still keeping track of items/info/bookings retrieved from a DB.

PDG cart (www.pdgsoft.com) allows you to sell "soft" items. (Items that aren't physical... such as software)  That might be worth looking into.

Isn't software still physical.. you can ship it and/or download it.

Well, yes, you CAN ship it, but you don't need to.  You'd have to see their site for their definition of soft items.

I suppose downloading does involve the use of electrons, which are a physical form too... 8)

Hi,
I currently use realsoft's shopping cart. You can download a free trial from filedudes.com.  The complete version will cost $99 and it is super.  I currently use it for one of my business sites.  If you would like to see it in action, you can view www.leonerd.com.  It offers complete customization as well a rather simple interface.
Their tech support is the most amazing, I have ever seen.  They have email and ICQ support for free with purchase.  They do offer phone tech support, but this costs extra.
The downside is that the main page does load relatively slow and you MUST use frames in the cart section.
I have used their software for every e-commerce site I have set up in the past 2 months.
Hope this helps

Most shopping carts (when customized and configured right) will do what you need to do.. that is do billing/charging for information/booking info.
