Outlook 97 and pst files

How do you purge or compact the PST files in outlook 97. There does not seem to be an option to do this, as in outlook express or outlook 98. My PST files are quite large and I need the disk space.

Go to the Control Panel > Mail applet. Highlight Personal Folders, click Properties then click Compact Now.

Take a look at this MS KB article, it may help:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q176/6/64.asp

You can also get this article by sending an E-mail with a subject of "Q176664" (without the quotes) to mshelp@microsoft.com.

This link should automate that for you:
mailto:mshelp@microsoft.com?subject=Q176664

That worked fine for the mailbox.pst file. I didn't go far enough into the proporties level to see the compact option.
However, how do i compact the archive.pst file?
